RALLY
for MIDWIFERY
Hello
Friend,
It's
time for action, folks! I am sending out this invitation for
you, your family, and friends--anyone who is interested in
supporting homebirth and midwifery in Alabama and one of our
midwives during her trial. It is very important that we get
as many supporters together as we possibly can on Friday,
August 23rd at 1:00p at the East Lake United Methodist Church
in Birmingham (see directions below.)
This is where our midwife's attorney attends church and he
has arranged for us to use one of their rooms.
Please
forward these details to anyone who is a supporter -- a member
of Alabama Friends of Midwives or anyone who would be interested
in membership. (We do not intend to tolerate opposition at
this rally.) Our mission is to stir supporters and strengthen
our network. One of the things on our agenda for this rally
will be to begin circulating a petition to promote a parent's
choice to birth where and with whom they choose. In order
for our efforts to be successful we will need YOUR participation.
If you will be unable to attend this rally, please contact
myself to find out how you can help or for a copy of the petition
to begin circulating. We're going to need a really quick turn-around
for these signatures. You may send any written correspondence
or donations to: P. O. Box 2357, Cullman, AL 35056-2357. For
further details or future information, go to http://www.alabamamidwives.com.
As always, please keep our midwife and her family and these
efforts in your prayers.
Hope
to see you there,
Kathy
